DD2.JZ – Barely a month left and still lots to do

Back in the DOTZ garage

After finishing the video shoot in Italy in the last part of the DD2.JZ series, the journey continues with the final preparations for the big Essen motor show. There, fans and visitors will be able to admire the vehicle. To make sure that nothing goes wrong, there is still a lot to do for our technicians.

In the 50th DD2.JZ episode, Christian and Daniel start off the day by bringing the engine compartment of the car back into shape. The illustrious engine of the Toyota Supra was functionally transplanted in painstaking detail into the BMW body during the course of the series. Now there are still some beautification measures left to do until the big motor show.

Without any hesitation, both experts are dedicated to dismantle the entire vehicle front. Among other things, bumper, headlight, front plate and parts of the cooling system are removed to powder-coat some of the pipes mounted there next to the valve lids of the inline six-cylinder.

Even with the front plate changes are made. On this occasion, Christian grabs an disk grinder to give the adapted charge air piping more space.

In the final step, the two technicians beautify the provisionally adjusted suspension struts. Again, Christian uses the diskgrinder to separate the projecting metal from the body. In the next article, the finished parts will be installed into the vehicle to make sure that everything works smoothly at the biggest car show in Europe.
