Off to Italy!
The DD2.JZ is ready for its first big movie project. In the last forty-eight episodes, the DOTZ technicians have worked really hard. Many working hours have passed, since the original BMW and Supra frontcut first arrived at the workshop. Now DOTZ Tuning Wheels is heading to Consonno, a deserted Italian ghost town.
To ensure that the photos are right, Patrick Paparella, one of the most well-known automotive photographers, was commissioned to put the DD2.JZ in its limelight. He is a master of his trade and knows how to position the finished DD2.JZ in front of the impressive scenery. Subsequently the video shoot starts with the help of a five-member film crew. The equipment is definitely worthy of the upcoming task: two cinema cameras, several action cams and a drone were brought to the set. Even a sound engineer was commissioned to perfectly capture the incredible sound of the vehicle.
The race car is steered by none other than Dominic Tiroch, who takes the tight turns through the forest towards Consonno in record-breaking speed. “These are the fastest drifts we’ve driven so far!” cheers Christian, after a glance at the speedometer where over 120 km/h were registred. His Toyota again serves as a rig-car during this shoot, enabling the film crew to capture Fabian Kluh’s impressive close-up shots.
The image film is scheduled to be published in the spring of 2019. In order to provide the image movie, the atmosphere of the ghost town is used optimally. Here, too, Dominic drifts past countless pillars with millimeter precision, accelerates daringly in narrow streets and lets the ingenious exhaust sound of the DD2.JZ echo through Consonno.
The DD2.JZ survived this tough test with a few minor failures, such as a broken drive shaft, a defect breaker and a couple of tire sets thanks to Daniel Koltay, who worked as a mechanic on site. Now the car only needs to be freshened up for the Essen Motor Show.
