DOTZ DD2.JZ – “Bye bye, cable spaghetti”

Away with the clutter

After the carpet and seats removal in the last blog entry, the two technicians Daniel and Christian take care of the confusion in the interior. Countless loose cables need to be routed professionally. In addition, Daniel uses a diagnostic test to find out why the electric power steering is not (yet) working as intended.

After a short consultation, Christian starts with his work in the interior. In addition to countless other cables, those for the Haltech dashboard as well as the switch and the launch control must rearranged in the cockpit of the DD2.JZ.

Meanwhile, Daniel decides to take care of the vehicle’s malfunctioning electric power steering. It struck at the first test drive for unexplainable reasons. After a short search, he is able to locate the engine that hasn’t worked properly since the engine has been redesigned.

With the help of a computer diagnosis at the DD2.JZ, Daniel tries to find more precise indications for the steering failure. However, this experiment proves to be problematic, since a large part of the vehicle electronics was removed during the engine conversion.

Bye bye, cable spaghetti

At the end of another working day, there is no sign of the still worrying cable mess in the morning. All controls for the Haltech instrument cluster and the launch control switch are now within the driver’s reach. In addition, the operation of the air ride system is now also attached to the dashboard and is supplied with sufficient power.
