The new body kit has arrived!
After a few weeks of break, the technicians of the DD2.JZ project have returned to their workshop to inspect their freshly arrived delivery: a wooden box several meters long with the new body kit for the vehicle. As usual, Christian and Dominik can hardly wait and get to work immediately.
First, the two technicians check all carbon parts for completeness and integrity, after their long journey across the Atlantic.
At the sight of the delivery, everybody in the room has run out of words. The quality is excellent and not a single flaw can be found. Drawn with overwhelming joy, the technicians can not believe their eyes.
In order for the new body kit parts to be assembled, the old ones must be removed.
After careful dismantling, Dominic takes care of the painting all visible parts of the substructure. Those are painted black.
Since the paint has dried, the two begin to install the wing, side rocker and the sidewall on the right side of the vehicle. Thanks to the high accuracy of fit, they have no problems here.
To attach the rear bumper, it is slightly modified because the tailpipe of the custom-made exhaust gas system is a bit too large.
In the penultimate step, the carbon fiber engine bonnet is modified to accommodate the screamer pipes. With a template, the same holes of the old bonnet are transferred exactly to the new one and cut out.
The rear window from the original boot lid is removed and glued into the new. Now the new tailgate including the lock cover can be re-mounted on the DD2.JZ.
Finally, Dominic tightens all the screws, before the DD2.JZ is prepared for his trip to the Hotrod Hangar, where it will receive its new design.
