DOTZ DD2.JZ – “The interior gets kicked out”

The interior follows …

After many hard hours of work on the exterior of the vehicle by the two detail-loving technicians Daniel and Christian, it’s now finally the interior’s turn. If you only expect optical embellishments in the DD2.JZ you will be mistaken because this episode goes down as before in intensive detail work.

The interior gets kicked out

Daniel and Christian have invited their well-known colleague Dominic to make the best possible transition. In addition to a long-standing friendship, Dominic was involved in past DOTZ projects. He is well versed in the restoration and refinement of vehicles and is also a gifted racer himself.

The interior gets kicked out

Everything starts with the installation of a new roll cage. The installation of this requires the removal of all plastic components and precise welding in several places.

After a short phone call the technicians receive pleasing news: To disassemble the carpet the dashboard does not have to be removed unlike previously thought. This saves the experts a time-consuming work step.

Many hours later, the roll cage is in the desired position and some plastic parts move back to their original place. Excluded from this are the BMW original seats. These are replaced with new Bride seats. The next part goes into more detail with the planned design aspects.
