DOTZ DD2.JZ – “The roll cage is here”

Safety cell – Precision work in the interior

This part of the article series continues with the installation of the newly delivered roll cage from Wiecher. The two technicians Christian and Daniel check the cage’s fitting and what further adjustments are necessary to get the Bride bucket seats into the vehicle.

Immediately the two start unpacking the new parts. The pipes of the cage are still black powder-coated, but these will be then adapted to the vehicle design and the future body color.

In the meantime, Daniel arranges the countless screws on the workbench in order to install them quickly as soon as they are needed.

As a check, they try to place some of the pipes in the right place. The manufacturer’s specifications are correct. The dashboard doesn’t have to be removed for the installation.

Christian checks several points of the floor pan that need to be drilled to bolt the cage to the body. Then the two take care of all the necessary adjustments in order to properly install Bride bucket seats.
