Review of the first part of the conversions
Before the DD2.JZ’s second conversion phase is initiated in the DOTZ garage, there is the opportunity to briefly summarize all previous achievements once again. Much of the essential work to improve the performance of the vehicle has been finished and the result leaves nothing to be desired. The car draws its power from its 2JZ GTE engine in combination with a Garrett GTX 4088R turbo and a 4-inch custom-made downpipe, which allow the deployment of the forces required for drifting.
Lowrider.at provided a high-performance Air Lift suspension system for the vehicle. It is characterized by the 3H air management and height sensors.
This amount of power must be controlled somehow require special brakes. The 6-piston sport breaking system from K-Sport deliveres the desired results.
The vehicle’s hydraulic handbrake was perfectly adjusted by the same manufacturer, so drifts could succeed perfectly.
Safety cell and cockpit were delivered by Wiechers. Despite the challenging welding and screwing in a very narrow workplace, the welding seams and steel pipes ensure perfect stability.
To guarantee that the driver of the DD2.JZ does not miss out any comfort while driving, DD2 Project Manager Christian Haderer decided to install Bride VIOS II bucket seats on custom-made seat brackets.
Takata’s mint green 6-point harness helps the driver to withstand the G-forces created during drifting. Of course, comfort was not ignored and now elegant Alcantara leather adorns the entire interior trim.
In the next phase, the DOTZ technicians will take care of the exterior design so that the car can be publicly admired for the first time at this year’s Motor Show in Essen.
